The Creation of Various Armies from the Kamadhenu

An interesting account from the Vedic literature on the creation of various armies from the Kamadhenu

Note: The content in brackets is my explanation

When the sage Vasistha was attacked by king Viswamitra’s army, Vasistha’s cow, Kamadehnu brought out different armies from different parts of her body.
1. Tail – Pahlavas (Modern Pehlavi in Northwest Pakistan and eastern Iran)
2. Udders – Dravida (Modern South India) and Saka (Modern Indo Scythians – Ancient Persia)
3. Womb – Yavanas (Yona, Iona – Greeks)
4. Dung – Savara (Sabara tribe, located roughly in modern Odisha, near Kantilo)
5. Urine – Kanchi (Modern Kanchipuram)
6. Froth (foam of mouth) – Paundras (roughly in Bengal), Kiratas (Nepal), Sinhala(Lanka), Khasa(south Nepal and north Bihar), Chivuka (modern Chebuk, Aligarh district, UP), Pulinda (Vindhya ranges, MP), China (easy to identify), Huna(Xinjiang province, China), Kerala(Kerala state) and Mleccha (other areas of West Asia)
