The Vrindavan-based Bhagavata speaker praises ISKCON for carrying the Gita to the world in many languages and links its 60th year to the 50th anniversary of Srila Prabhupada’s departure.
INDIA — Indresh Upadhyay, the Bhagavata speaker of the Bhaktipath platform, has sent greetings to ISKCON on the 60th anniversary of the movement in a two-minute Hindi message published on 29 October 2026 by ISKCON’s global YouTube channel.[1] ISKCON has been marking its 60th year since Srila Prabhupada founded it in New York in 1966.[2]
Speaking after chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra, Indresh Upadhyay describes ISKCON as an institution in the line of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, connected with the Gaudiya Math, that has spread devotion to Krishna and the teachings of the Gita across the world, “not only among the youth and among Indians”, in Chinese, Russian and “who knows how many languages”.[1]
“Such an ISKCON is now completing 60 years. Srila Prabhupada Ji Maharaj established it, and in this same context, this Kartik our Srila Prabhupada completes 50 years of his samadhi. This celebration will continue from this Kartik to the next Kartik. My very best wishes to all the devotees of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, and to everyone working in it, who in these years have carried Krishna-bhakti to every person and every home.”

He recalls Narada Muni’s instruction in the Srimad-Bhagavatam that the mind should be fixed on Krishna “by any means”, and says ISKCON has played “a very good role” in awakening a taste for the Lord’s name. He closes with good wishes “from me and from all of Bhaktipath”, and offers his obeisances to Srila Prabhupada on the 50th anniversary of his samadhi.[1]
Srila Prabhupada left this world in Vrindavan on 14 November 1977, in the month of Kartik; the year of celebration Indresh Upadhyay describes would run up to the 50th anniversary of his departure in Kartik 2027.
