Interview with Sriman Muralidhar Bhatta and Sri Vasudevan

Muralidhara Bhatta is cheif archaka of the main Sri Ranganatha Temple at Srirangam. He is in the same family line as of Sri Venkata Bhatta, whose son was Goapala Bhatta Gosvami (one of the 6-gosvamis). Currently Muralidhara Bhatta stays at the house where Sri Gopala Bhatta Gosvami and his father, Sri Venkata Bhatta used to stay. Lord Chaitanya stayed at this house for four months during His South India visit and discussed Krishna Katha with Venkata Bhatta.

In 1970s, Rangaraj Bhatta, the father of Muralidhara Bhatta, issued a letter declaring ISKCON as bona fide Vaisnava Sampradaya as it is based on sastras, which BBT got published in 10s of thousands and widely circulated. The effect was that ISKCON was accepted as a bona fide Vaisnava Sampradaya and ISKCON’s preaching could expand then onwards.

Sriman Lakshamithathacharyar is a leading Sri Vaisnava Scholar and has been many times awarded for his scholarship by the Indian Government. He is a guru in the line of Sri Vaisnavas and has given shelter to many conditioned souls. He has been a constant well-wisher of ISKCON for many decades and is in close relationship with top ISKCON leaders.
