Krsna never Forsakes His Devotees

The truth is, Krsna is so kind. He has sent His dear friend to give us the opportunity to serve Him properly, though in the beginning we still have many material desires that are mixed with our desire to make spiritual progress. He promises though that if we surrender to Him that He will protect us from the reactions of these mixed material desires.

That was our philosophy. We understood things in that way when we joined. If we were 80% material in our motives, but 20% sincere in our endeavor, then our practice in devotional service would gradually increase that number from 20% upwards, as the 80% automatically decreased. We were being purified. And if only we would fulfill our basic duty to Srila Prabhupada of chanting our 16 rounds, following the regulative principles, and “doing whatever we could to push on Krsna consciousness,” then we were protected by this promise from Krsna and we could continue in this way to completion.

But as soon as we neglect our duty, we are no longer under the umbrella of protection of Krsna’s diavi prakriti, and we are again subject to the reactions of our diseased condition. Srila Prabhupada said “habit was second nature to us”, so as soon as we loose that protection, we again begin the same material sinful habits that were there before we took shelter of Srila Prabhupada

But once we have given our lives to Krsna, even just for a little while Krsna never forgets that and is always in the background arranging our lives so that we can find our way back to Him.
