Written by HH Bhakti Raghava Swami:
There are over 300 references in the VedaBase when one enters MANU SAMHITA, all attesting to it’s being authorized. Here is one of them:
“As we learn from the history of the Mahabharata, or “Greater India”, the wives and daughters of the ruling class, the Kshatriyas, knew the political game, but we never find that a Women was given the post of chief executive. This is in accordance with the injunctions of the Manu-Samhita, but unfortunately, the Manu-samhita is now being insulted, and the Aryans, the members of Vedic society, cannot do anything. Such is the nature of Kali-yuga.” (SB 10.4.5 Purport)
Another quote:
“The revealed scriptures, like Manu-Samhita and similar others, are considered the standard books to be followed by human society. (Bhagavad-gita 3.21 Purport)
Another:
“The Manu-samhita is the standard lawbook for humanity, and every human being is advised to follow this great book of social knowledge.” (SB 2.1.36)
Manu-samhita is part of the curriculum at the Bhaktivedanta Academy in Sridham Mayapur.
So if Manu-samhita is supported by our Founder Acharya Srila Prabhupada, who are we to reject it or make such statements that it is not applicable in Kali Yuga.
Where is the reference by Srila Prabhupada rejecting the Manu-samhita or stating that it is not applicable in Kali Yuga?
Then without puny brain we’ll follow up by stating that Varnasrama Dharma is also not applicable in Kali Yuga as some would love to have us believe.
Then we’ll start rejecting the Mahabharata, and automatically we’ll reject the Bhagavad-Gîtâ. Then we’ll reject the whole Vedâs. Those who reject the Manu-Samhita are in fact rejecting the Vedas themselves.
The Vedic texts must be taught only by a qualified teacher, one who understands the difference between primary instructions and secondary instructions, one who understands the principles of Kala, Desha and Patra, time, place and circumstances.
Thank you very much once in Salem I heard from Mukunda Datta Prabhu that when we do not value for example Manu Samitha we make offenses to the holy name. –
