At most Vishnu temples in India, the main temple entrance is flanked by murtis of Jaya and Vijaya, the Lord’s eternal gatekeepers in Vaikuntha. We all the know the story of the Lord’s pastime in arranging for them to be cursed to come to the material world so He could enjoy a good fight, and thus appearing as some of the most well known avatars such as Lord Nrsimha, Varaha, etc.
The TOVP will also have Jaya and Vijaya standing at its main entrance, and they will be almost 40’ (12m) tall. Below are some photos of the current painting and detail work going into finishing the murtis by Srimati Ambhoda devi dasi.
