Open Letter to HG Hrdayananda Maharaja by HG Mayesa dasa

Maharaja
My obeisances,

I just perused your letter addressed to the devotees regarding ISKCON’s recent adoption of Female Diksa Guru.

I found a problem in your first claim and again in your second claim. And those two claims made up the whole of the letter.

Your first claim is that you have watched women leave ISKCON because they were denied the ability to serve.

You make no allowance for women marrying, having children and assuming role of wife and mother.

This first claim is wholly manufactured in your mind.

Your second claim is equally erroneous but has the added dimension of being disguised as based on sastra.

You correctly quoted that the men who participate in the four varnas act according to the qualities born of their own nature.

But you do not mention the word men.

You then proceed to imply that women fall into one or all of these four categories.
You deliberately ignore the very existence of stri-dharma.

It is quite surprising that a scholar such as yourself would miss such an important point.

I can only conclude that you, having believed your own first false claim, think something is missing in varnasrama.

In this way you demonstrate “over-intelligence”, as my gurumaharaja used to say.

Your intelligence has surpassed guru and Krsna.

My obeisances,
Your servant,
Mayesa dasa. (ACBSP)
