Raaslila on streets for Trump’s visit an insult to Braj: Padma Shri MS Bhatia

Mathura, 2020-02-23 (VT)

Prior to US President Donald Trump’s Agra visit on February 24, Padma Shri and veteran Braj litterateur, Shri Mohan Swaroop Bhatia has raised objection to the performance of Shri Radha Krishna’s Raaslila as a mere exhibit on the streets for his welcome.

Along with other programs that have been planned at regular intervals throughout movement of the President’s cavalcade form the airport to Taj Mahal, Raaslila will also be showcased on the roadside. This, according to Shri Bhatia, is being insensitive to the religious and cultural sentiments of Brajwasis who revere the Raaslila and those who enact it as manifestations of the divine.
