The name of ‘UDGAR’ festival organized to get rid of the evil addictions in the country has been recorded in the world record book. London’s World Book Records on Sunday honored Gopal Krishna Goswami of ISKCON for organizing the biggest festival. During this event, Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan was also present.

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) celebrated an annual Mega Youth Fest ‘UDGAR – An Expression of Goodness and Joy’ at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday. The theme of this festival was to free the country from evil addictions. A total of 12,000 people attended the event.

The event was a mix of modern entertainment such as hip-hop, fusion music by “Feel Crew” and “Madhav Rock Band”. Another performance that mesmerized the audience was the performance of sand art by Nitish Bharti, a young addict’s struggle and his help from Bhagavad Geeta.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan praised ISKCON’s global efforts to preserve India’s culture globally. He also said that the government is committed not only to protect the youth but also to give them positive engagement. Dr. Virendra Mishra, director of the National Institute of Social Defence, said that the best way to deal with drug addiction is to not let the youth come into it. ISKCON Youth Forum and UDGAR Festival Director HG Sundar Gopal said that ISKCON is committed to helping youth get out of drug addiction.
