Some temples of Lord Sri Krishna are very special in India

In these temples on the whole people always line up, but at the time of Janmashtami the numbers of devotees of Lord Krishna become great. Among all these temples there are some very special ones. Jagannatha Temple

Jagannatha Temple – जगन्नाथ मंदिर

It is said in the Puranas that Jagannatha Puri is Vaikuntha on Earth. The glories of the Jagannatha temple are famous not only in India but throughout the world. The Jagannatha temple established in Puri is one of the four dhamas, or places of pilgrimage, of Hindus in India. This temple is considered to be more than 800 years old. On the top of the Jagannatha temple’s shikhar (dome) is a flag that always waves in the opposite direction of the wind.

Love Temple, Vrindavan

Vrindavan’s Prem (Love) Temple is exquisite. On the occasion of Janmashtami, the decoration of the Prem temple is done in a special manner. On the whole, every day its decoration is done in a differnt way. At night, this temple shines with colorful lights.

ISKCON Temple, Vrindavan

इस्कॉन मंदिर, वृंदावन – ISKCON Temple, Vrindavan

The ISKCON temple of Vrindavan is also known as the Krishna-Balaram temple. The temple was established in 1975. At the Vrindavan ISKCON temple the devotees worship the Lord while singing and dancing. Large numbers of foreign devotees also come here.

Dvarakadhish Temple, Mathura

The Dvarakadhish Temple’s arati is especially worth seeing. At this temple the beautiful form of Lord Sri Krishna resides. The temple sits on the banks of the holy Yamuna River.

Shrinath Ji Temple, Nathdvara Rajasthan

The Shri Nathji temple of Nathdvara, Rajasthan is known for its Deities. It is said that the Maharaja of Mevara saved Shri Nathji and other Deities of Govardhana Hill from Aurangzeb and brought them here. This temple was constructed in the 12th century.

ISKCON Temple, Bangalore

The ISKCON temple of Bangalore is regarded as the largest ISKCON temple in India. This temple was constructed in 1997.

Shri Ranchor Ji Maharaja Temple, Gujarat

The Temple of Shri Ranchor Ji Maharaja on the banks of the Gomati River is situated right in the midst of Dakor’s chief baazaar. A Maratha nobleman constructed the temple in 1772. At this temple are eight domes and 24 towers that were made with gold. Beside the temple is also a temple of Lakshmi Ji. According to belief, Lord Shri Krishna visits Lakshmi Ji at her temple.

It is said that this temple was constructed in the 8th century. At this temple are many Deities of Lord Vishnu that devotees of Krishna are attracted to.

Temple of Baby Krishna, Hampi, Karnataka

बालकृष्ण मंदिर, हंपी कर्नाटक – Temple of Baby Krishna, Hampi, Karnataka

In Hampi, Karnataka, the Bala-Krishna temple structure is made in a very unique way. This temple has just been included by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. At this temple a Deity of Bala-Krishna (Baby Krishna) is situated.

Udupi Shri Krishna Math, Karnataka

उडुपी श्री कृष्ण मठ, कर्नाटक – Udupi Shri Krishna Math, Karnataka

The Udupi Shri Krishna Math was constructed in the 13th century. This temple dedicated to Lord Shri Krishna is a famous temple. Next to this temple is a pond that gives a reflection of the temple.
