A Few Words on Lord Sri Krishna

Krsna is there intimately at every moment within our hearts, and He is aware of our every thought, “as one smells the aroma of a rose.” We always forget this, and thus all our problems in the material atmosphere begin. Of course, if i tell you “Krsna is there inside of you knowing every intimate detail of your being,” you might for a moment understand that, but that remembrance will quickly fade due to our identifying with the three modes of nature since time immemorial which has bewildered us and has caused us to always forget Krsna

So, just telling you isn’t enough. In a few moments when material nature gradually covers you over again, your remembering Krsna momentarily will again fade away. So there has to be a way to retrain your senses and your intelligence to again be fixed on Krsna. This retraining process is called devotional service in practice, The more we practice thinking of Krsna through devotional service, the more we will fix our minds on Him.

To find out about this great science of devotional service, one can hear the instructions from the greatest authority on the subject, my beloved diksha gurum Founder Acharya of ISKCON, A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who has spread Krsna consciousness all over the world.

here are different kinds of devotees, and Krsna deals with each of them accordingly. For a fully surrendered soul like our beloved spiritual master, Krsna is there so intimately protecting him, thinking about him, and finding ways to please him. This is due to the fact that such a rare soul like that is at every minute also trying to please Krsna, and there is a very intimate reciprocation and communication unbroken between Them. But a third class devotee like me who just thinks that my religion is hare krsna and I might go to the feast, but most of my day is spent maintaining my body and family, going to movies and kissing girls, I cant expect to have the same privileges that I will gain when I become completely surrendered and Krsna is my everything. So these statements that we hear about how Krsna relates to His devotees will change according to our own practice of Krsna consciousness and what kind of devotee we are. Both Srila Prabhupada and I are “devotees,” but I cant say that there isn’t a difference between what our personal relationship is with Krsna, and how differently that relationship is characterized.

Today at Shands my friend had brought me her computer to use. I looked on Youtube and found Srila Prabhupada’s bhajans. It was so wonderful to play these. There were nurses, etc. with the other guy in the room so I didn’t want to play things too loudly. But I guess Srila Prabhupada was still heard. One young man working with the patient came to my bed a little later and asked me what music I was playing. I told him ” it was Srila Prabhupada, my spiritual teacher. He started the Hare Krsna movement in the Western world and I have been his faithful disciple for over 48 years.” He then asked if we could get together later today and I could tell him more about Srila Prabhupada and the Hare Krsna movement. I cant describe the happiness and joy that appears in my heart when this type of things happens. I can look back and remember this happens every time a person would come along and show such interest. I am sure all sincere devotees can feel me.
