The Ultimate Solution

The Ultimate Solution

Serving Krsna is the constitutional position
Of every jiva, in whatever situation.

Forgetting this, he suffers unlimitedly,
Not realizing the problem ultimately.

He always tries to satisfy himself
By serving the body, considering it the actual self.

Trying his utmost to please bodily relatives,
He works very hard, ignorant of life’s true objectives.

Like the washerman’s ass bearing a great load,
The jiva expects “grass” at the end of the road.

He faithfully pampers cats and dogs,
Risking rebirth in a family of hogs.

In total pursuit of false happiness,
He thinks that sense gratification ends all distress.

By watering only twigs, branches, and leaves,
He all the more incessantly grieves.

He doesn’t realize that watering a tree’s roots
Naturally produces nectarean fruits.

By realizing that Krsna is the root of the tree,
And serving Him always–from bondage one is free.

Serving the Lord throughout one’s life
Ends all material strife.

So come along, to dance and sway!
Sing along! Chant and say:

Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna,
Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare,
Hare Rama, Hare Rama,
Rama Rama, Hare Hare.
