Release of new book: Sri Namastaka of Srila Rupa Gosvami Prabhupada

Dear devotees,

Hare Krishna. Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and his followers.

We are pleased to inform you that by the mercy of Srila Rupa Gosvami Prabhupada and his followers, we have been able to release an English translation of his Namastaka and commentaries on it by Srila Baladeva Vidyabhusana and Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura.

Namastaka contains eight Sanskrit verses on the glories of the holy name of Lord Krsna, and it appears in the final portion of Srila Rupa Gosvami’s Stava-mala. Srila Baladeva Vidyabhusana Prabhu commented on the entirety of Stava-mala in Sanskrit, and his commentary on Namastaka reveals his deep insights into the power, significance and method of offenselessly chanting the holy names of Lord Krsna.

Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura also presented prose paraphrases and versified explanations of the Namastaka in Bengali. With his characteristic penetrating intelligence, Srila Bhaktivinoda clarified some of the complicated concepts presented in Srila Baladeva Vidyabhusana’s Sanskrit commentary on the Namastaka.

In this edition, we have presented Srila Rupa Gosvami’s Namastaka along with Srila Baladeva Vidyabhusana’s commentary and Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura’s paraphrase and explanation together. We have presented the Sanskrit text in Devanagari, the Bengali text in Bengali, and then a transliteration followed by synonyms and translation. The edition also contains informative footnotes and appendixes mostly containing relevant statements from the writings of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

Devotees in India can order the book from Amazon.in here. Devotees outside of India can do so by emailing ruparaghunathavani@gmail.com.
