To be Situated in Varnasrama Nataraja Dasa

Astrology decides (shows) what your body is meant for. It’s a duty of parents to rise and educate child in this direction. Towards ideal and predestined natural qualities. In a case of daughter – that’s easier – stri dharma do not depend on varna dharma, it’s separate. Varna of daughter is important only when you choose future husband.

So – varna is in the field of problematics of rising and education of sons.
In my case of my sons – astrologically, I have 2 ksatriyas, vaisya and brahmana. We all together study these topics and we clearly see how it’s practically shows up, these differences.

Then there is case of emergency. Yes – I consider myself ksatriya as it is shown by my stars – because whatever I do, I do as a fight. I even make my work, sometimes shudras work (case of emergency* for to fulfill asrama duty) as a fight. Therefore I was forced to open my own company, because I am very bad employee. It’s very hard to “exploit” me, lot of problems for employers.
But when I am for my own – then this fight can go on. read more

Srila Prabhupada’s Beautifully Poetic Preface to the Srimad Bhagavatam (Pre-USA Edition)

“Great sages labouring hard under stringent regulative principles for salvation by suspending semina onwards and thus remaining naked, as well as successful mendicants who have attained complete satisfaction by purificatory practices,-do achieve the transcendental sky of the name Brahman. But so far we are concerned, oh the Great Mystic! we shall transcend this world of abject nescience simply by vibrating the message of your activities as duty bound devotees of Your Lordship, although we are moving seemingly on the path of fruitive actions.” read more

The Truth is Always Coming Down to us from Krishna Mahananda dasa ACBSP

As aspiring seekers of the truth, we must look for what is actually real by taking shelter of disciplic succession. “Taking shelter” means always following closely in the footsteps of our spiritual predecessors and whatever we say concerning this Krsna consciousness philosophy is identical with what we have submissively heard from our pure devotee guru, though spoken is our own words.

A serious disciple has given up speculating, accepting that upon taking shelter of Krsna, all previous conceptions of life and God are invalid due to our four defects. We have become determined to let the truth come down from the transcendental platform through every word that comes from the mouth of the pure, unalloyed devotee of Krsna.

That is why we abandon speculation and seek the truth through submissive hearing. And what we have heard and only what we have heard, we repeat that same idea without any adding or deleting what we don’t like, or what we think others will not like. We do not change it to suit the world. Rather, we present it as it is and let the world come up to the higher standard. read more

“Who is Supreme?” -a Book Establishing the Supremacy of Lord Krishna

In the pandemonium of which among the 330 million demigods of the Vedas to choose and worship and India’s polytheism being one gambit of an anti-Hindu person’s unscrupulous attempts to put down Vedic culture (varnashrama dharma), this book written by Gokula Chandra Prabhu, the disciple of Tridandi Sannyasi Pramam Pujya Srila Bhakti Vikasa Swami Maharaja, is the key to solving this confusion of which of those many headed, many handed, elephant-headed or otherwise “gods” of the Vedas to worship. We are inspired by this book to increase our own Krishna bhakti and our appropriate reverence towards the servants of Lord Krishna, the 330 million demigods. This book amplifies the message of the Bhagavata Gita, a message that the Hindus of India often seem to miss totally, the message being:

Chapter 7: Knowledge of the Absolute

TEXT 20 kamais tais tair hrta-jnanah

Those whose minds are distorted by material desires surrender unto demigods and follow the particular rules and regulations of worship according to their own natures. TEXT 21 yo yo yam yam tanum bhaktah

tasya tasyacalam sraddham

I am in everyone’s heart as the Supersoul. As soon as one desires to worship the demigods, I make his faith steady so that he can devote himself to some particular deity. TEXT 22 sa taya sraddhaya yuktas
tasyaradhanam ihate

Endowed with such a faith, he seeks favors of a particular demigod and obtains his desires. But in actuality these benefits are bestowed by Me alone.

TEXT 23

Men of small intelligence worship the demigods, and their fruits are limited and temporary. Those who worship the demigods go to the planets of the demigods, but My devotees ultimately reach My supreme planet. read more

Krishna Janmāsthami!

The appearance of the Supreme Lord Sri Krsna in this material world is not like the birth of ordinary human beings. Ordinary beings are forced to take birth in various situations due to their good or bad past activities. But the Supreme Lord Sri Krsna appears in this world simply out of His own desires.

What are those desires? Lord Krsna states in Bhagavad-gita 4.8:

paritrāṇāya sādhūnāṁ
vināśāya ca duṣkṛtām
dharma-saṁsthāpanārthāya
sambhavāmi yuge yuge read more

When Srila Prabhupada Speaks of Ordinary Things He Never Becomes Ordinary Akincana Staff

If we want to be successful in our spiritual endeavors, we can never minimize the ISKCON Founder Acharya, Srila Prabhupada. Try to understand what happens when someone surrenders to Krsna. The modes of nature disappear. Srila Prabhupada is not in this world, but has a direct one-on-one relationship with Krsna on a moment to moment basis. Every moment Srila Prabhupada speaks, every word, is transcendental. Whatever he is saying, we can understand that somehow it is true because it is spoken by Krsna through him, even though our so-called intelligence wants to convince us otherwise.

By his unalloyed surrender, Srila Prabhupada has become the embodiment of Truth, which includes the transcendental science of how to re-establish our eternal connection with the Absolute Truth. This complete spiritual knowledge is there in our hearts as Supersoul, and Srila Prabhupada has become the manifestation of this same identical absolute truth as the external manifestation of this same Supersoul. For this reason, we say he is “as good as Krsna.”

He is never like us, who sometimes repeat some scriptures but also sometimes make statements while drawing on our culture, or mundane education, our personal opinions, etc. This is because we are ordinary men who are subject to material nature. We still believe all of our nonsense ideas. read more

Mridanga, Kartala, that is Enough Akincana Staff

So far your road-show is concerned, we are not meant for giving performances, we are simple kirtana men. There must always be kirtana going on wherever we travel, and nothing else. In this connection refer to the GBC letter which will be sent to you shortly by Karandhara and Syamasundara. (Letter to Kirtanananda — Los Angeles 25 June, 1972)

One night there was a darsana with one musician. I never got the understanding whether this was a person coming to Krsna consciousness or whether this was already a devotee. I always thought it was someone coming to Krsna consciousness that wanted to use their western rock and roll guitar style in service to Lord Caitanya, and Prabhupada was very adamant, and the guy kept bringing the point up two or three times and finally Prabhupada said “No!” and he pointed, there was this beautiful picture of Panca-tattva on the wall of his room. He said “You see Mahaprabhu; kartalas and mrdanga, that is all. (Caturatma das: Memories of Srila Prabhupada, DVD 51)

My opinion is that it is not necessary for us to utilize these different musical talents for spreading Krsna Consciousness. I would rather see people follow strictly the path of Lord Caitanya and His Sankirtana devotees. We are using mrdanga, karatala, that is enough. We are not musicians. We are Krsna bhaktas. Therefore we do not stress so much importance on these different musical talents. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is God Himself. Had He thought it would have been better to spread Krsna Consciousness by another way He would have done so. But no, simply with mrdanga and karatala, traveling and chanting Hare Krsna, asking everyone to chant Hare Krsna, preaching simply Srimad-Bhagavatam philosophy, this is the process. There is no need for us to try and add anything to this simple method. It will only be a distraction. Therefore I request you to follow the simple path of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu and help me spread this wonderful mission all over the world. Keep yourself pure and fixed up in Krsna Consciousness by following the basic principles that I have given; chanting 16 rounds daily, following the four regulative principles, rising early, attending mangala arati and classes etc. This is of the utmost importance. “After collecting their respective cows and loading their paraphernalia into their wagons, the cowherd men went out. The women, children and elderly persons gradually followed them.”
SB 10.25.27

When I was little kid – almost every babushka on a country side did have her own respective cow. Just some 30-40 years ago.
But now?

In our movement we try to speak about cow protection – how to revive it. But in this beautiful verse there is a simple formula of cow protection.
I know personally many men who not only would want to have cows, but who have had or still have them. But they are mostly lone men. read more
